What do you call H.R. 535?

On January 24, 2012, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives unanimously passed H.R. 535, a non-binding resolution declaring 2012 "The Year of the Bible." The resolution states that we have a "national need to study and apply the holy scriptures"

Why don't we study The Vedas, The Torah, The Avesta, The Tripitaka, Confucianism, the Jain Texts, The Tao te Ching, the Qur'an?

If this were really because of a "national need to study and apply the holy scriptures", why are they limiting it scriptures of Christianity and not other faiths?

Besides, everyday they complain about how to fix the economy. Wouldn't concentrating on that be a better use of their time?
