CURWENSVILLE — Lezzer Energy Services, a division of Lezzer Lumber, has unveiled a portable, above ground water impounding system for Marcellus Shale natural gas wells. The system, with patent pending, is call a TrussPond, and can hold thousands of gallons of water.
The pond allows gas companies to catch rain and snow, decreasing the amount of water required to be trucked in for the fracking method. The systems are installed by certified workers.

Marmon/Keystone opens warehouse in OklahomaMarmon/Keystone of Butler has announced the opening of a 38,000 square-foot warehousing facility in Tulsa, Okla.The warehouse will serve customers throughout Oklahoma, southeast Kansas, southwest Missouri and west central Arkansas. The Tulsa service center is staffed by five employees and two contract drivers.
Frankferd Farms receives ag award from PASACLINTON TWP — Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA) recently presented Frankferd Farms Foods with its 2011 Sustainable Agriculture Business Leadership Award.This is one of Pennsylvania’s highest honors in the sustainable farming sector. The award was presented Feb. 3 at the association’s 21st Farming for the Future Conference in State College.T. Lyle Ferderber accepted the award for Frankferd Farms Foods. Ferderber and his wife, Betty, left college to return to the family farm in Clinton Township, where they began grinding flour in a small gristmill. Thirty years later, the Ferderbers head an organic farm, flour mill and natural foods warehouse, which are all solar powered.
U.S. Postal Service posts $3.3 billion loss in quarterWASHINGTON — Teetering on the brink of bankruptcy, the U.S. Postal Service’s quarterly loss ballooned to $3.3 billion amid declining mail volume and the soaring costs of health benefits for future retirees.From October through December, losses were $3 billion more than the same period a year ago, even though that quarter is typically the strongest due to the holidays. The mail agency said that at this rate, it will run out of money by October.
