The Butler seventh-grade White boys basketball team outscored Pine-Richland 25-6 in the second half to post a 35-18 victory Monday.

Joel Stutz had 10 points and Cade Negley and Jason Gray had 3-pointers in the second half.

Butler (12-2) will travel to Shaler Friday.

• Terrence Maryland Thompson had 12 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Butler Catholic eighth-grade boys squad to a 46-19 triumph over Assumption.

Joe Farmer and Noah Ferguson added eight points apiece and Brock Grenci six points and six rebounds.

In a 38-34 loss to Ursula, Farmer and Ferguson had 10 points apiece and Maryland Thompson eight points and nine rebounds.

The Butler Junior High wrestling team placed seventh of 22 teams at the North Allegheny Invitational last weekend.Butler had three place winners: Caleb Baxter (second, 92 pounds), Hank Finan (fourth, 140) and Luke Baranchak (fourth, 147).Baxter had two pins and a major decision to reach the finals, while Finan pinned the No. 2-seeded wrestler in his division along the way and Baranchak used a 6-4 OT win to reach the consolation final.Scotty Dietrich won three matches and 15 wrestlers in all captured at least one win on the day.<B><I><U></B></U></I>
