INDIANA — First Commonwealth Financial has announced a more than $5 million loss in the fourth quarter of 2011.

The reported net loss is $5.7 million, or 5 cents per share, for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2011, as compared to net income of $11.9 million, or 11 cents diluted earnings per share, in the fourth quarter of 2010.

The decrease in net income was primarily the result of a higher provision for credit losses and a collateral valuation charge for an Other Real Estate Owned property.

For 2011, First Commonwealth's net income was $15.3 million, or 15 cents diluted earnings per share, compared to net income of $23 million, or 25 cents diluted earnings per share, for the year 2010.

The decrease in year-over-year net income was primarily the result of lower net interest income due to balance sheet restructuring strategies and depressed loan demand in 2011.

SUMMIT TWP — Dr. William DiCuccio has been named president of the Community Health Clinic of Butler County for 2012.DiCuccio practiced in Butler until his retirement in 2005. He serves as the medical director of Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler Township, a position he has held since 1982.He also serves as vice chairman of the Butler County Community College board of trustees.Other health clinic board officers are David Konesni, vice president; Donnoa Succop, treasurer; and Jean Purvis, secretary.The rest of the board members are the Rev. James Dollhopf of the First Lutheran Church; Lynn Beck, CPA; Jack Cohen, executive director of the Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau; Ed Fink, superintendent of the Butler School District; Taylor Gall; Madeline Konesni; Mike Menshyk; Louis Pocciari; Joan Shaffer; and Judy Connelly, director of the VNA Hospice, who was appointed to replace Mona Parsons.
