Richard Fabian

Richard P. Fabian, 72, of West Sunbury died at 8:29 p.m. Friday at UPMC.

He was born June 12, 1940, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late John and Mary (Sabol) Fabian.

Rich was a Catholic. His hobbies included beekeeping and raising fish in his pond. He belonged to the North Hills Lodge F.&A.M. 716 and the Syria Shrine.

He retired from the Equitable Gas Co. after 38 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen E. (Staley) Fabian, who he married Aug. 28, 1964; two daughters, Laura L. Kumar of San Francisco and Julie (Shane) M. Thumma of Butler; his granddaughter, Ryleigh Thumma; his sister, Delores (Robert) Buch of Crafton; his brother, John (Mary Ann) Fabian of Valencia; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.

FABIAN — Friends of Richard P. Fabian, who died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Young Funeral Home, Butler.A blessing service will be at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
