David J. Heasley, 78, of Greensburg died Wednesday at home.

He was born March 22, 1934, in Great Belt, a son of the late Charles and Margaret Jordan Heasley.

After several brothers founded Heasley Brothers' Nursery, Dave later became the nursery's owner.

He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Jeannette, the Slickville American Legion Post 0018 and the Jeannette F&AM Lodge 750, AASR 32°. He was a life member of Shriners International and a social member of the Grapeville Fire Department.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Dale, Glen, Robert, Charles, Wade and Earl, and four sisters, Betty Cooper, Sara Osterling, Janet Pehrson and Nancy Hummell.

He is survived by his wife, Andrea H. Sadler Heasley; a son, David A. Heasley of Greensburg; daughter, April Heasley of Greensburg; two brothers, Clifford (Sandy) Heasley of Greensburg and Merle (Judi) Heasley of Englewood, Ohio; four sisters, Margy Hoffman Tebay of Cabot, Emogene (James) Lyon of Meridian, Shirley (John) Harper of Seal Beach, Calif., and Donna (Lester) Downing of Greensburg; sister-in-law Cindy (William) Siefert; and numerous nieces and nephews.

HEASLEY — Friends of David J. Heasley, who died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, 516 Stanton St., Greensburg.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Daniel R. Defassio, along with Dave's nephew, the Rev. Carl Hoffman III, officiating.
