Boyd

Marmon/Keystone has named Casey Boyd as the controller in its East Butler operation.

Boyd previously worked for Marmon/Key- stone at the corporate office in Butler as a business development specialist, marketing technician and corporate buyer.

He has a master's degree in business administration from Indiana (Pa.) University and a bachelor's degree in marketing and journalism from Duquesne University.

Boyd and his wife, Jessica, live in Moon Township.

BUTLER TWP — The Butler Health System received the VHA Pennsylvania 2011 APEX, Achieving Patient Care Excellence, Award on Wednesday.VHA is a national organization that works with member hospitals to improve clinical and monetary performance.The health system received the award for its top ranking in key measures of patient care, including care of heart attack patients, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care improvement.“We are honored to be recognized by VHA for our continued dedication to improving the quality of care for our patients,” Ken DeFurio BHS president and CEO, said in a news release.VHA serves more than 1,400 not-for-profit hospitals and more than 24,000 nonacute care facilities in 47 states and the District of Columbia.

ERIE — The Mechanical Contractors Association of Northwest Pennsylvania is offering its annual Foster McCarl Jr. Scholarship.The scholarship is for students entering plumbing, HVAC, engineering or other construction related fields of study during the 2012-2013 academic year.The association will pick outstanding students at two or four year programs at accredited colleges, universities and technical schools.The group will award one $1,000 and four $500 scholarships. Applications and program guidelines are at www.mcanwpa.com or from high school guidance counselors.Scholarship applications must be postmarked no later than May 1.
