Kenneth H. Minnear

Kenneth H. Minnear, 79, of Butler passed away at 5:30 a.m. Thursday at his residence.

Born Jan. 10, 1932, in Wilkinsburg, he was the son of the late George Lindsay Minnear and the late Hazel Mae (Kerr) Minnear.

Ken was a member of the Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church. He worked at Pullman Standard and retired from the Moniteau School District, where he was the maintenance superintendent.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling, camping and computers. He was an avid woodworker, making furniture and clocks. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Davies) Minnear, who he married Dec. 16, 1950; two daughters, Linda (Max) Baptiste of Butler and Patty (Chris) Yost of Eau Claire; one son, Kenneth (Betty) Minnear of West Sunbury; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Metz; and one brother, George L. Minnear Jr.

MINNEAR — Friends of Kenneth H. Minnear, who died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, will be received at the

William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gordon Powell officiating. Burial will be in the Muddy Creek Cemetery.
