Devin Taylor scored 19 points and pulled down a career-high 22 rebounds on Friday to lead the Slippery Rock University men’s basketball team to a 64-58 victory over Cheyney at Morrow Field House.

Torrance Timothy added 11 points and five rebounds for The Rock (7-4, 4-3), while Aubin Reeves had nine points and Tabari Perry eight points and seven boards.

SRU outrebounded Cheyney 56-31.

Women’s BasketballA 12-1 run to start the game on Friday helped the SRU squad to an easy 86-51 victory over Cheyney University.The contest marked the third consecutive win for The Rock (4-7, 1-6), who had five players in double figures.Erinne Cunningham had 19 points, including five 3-pointers while Danielle Smith had 16 points and six rebounds. Paris Thomas had 12 points and 10 assists, Sherita Stanley 11 points and 10 rebounds and D’Asia Chambers 10 points.SRU remains at home for a doubleheader today against Shippensburg. The women’s game is at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men at 7:30 p.m.
