Howard M. Clark
Howard M. Clark, 88, of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Petrolia, died on Nov. 15, 2012.
Howard was born on March 4, 1924, in West Monterey, Pa., the son of the late Jacob Astor and Grace (Crispen) Clark.
He married Mary Ann Giebel on July 26, 1957, and they shared 55 wonderful years together.
Howard proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 642. When living in Pennsylvania, Howard worked as a lab technician for the Witco Chemical Corp. for 44 years before retiring. He later moved to North Myrtle Beach, S.C., to be closer to his son.
Howard was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed playing and watching golf, football, baseball and bowling. In his younger years, Howard was a well known amateur baseball player in the Butler County area. He coached Little League baseball for several years, and his love of the game was well known to all who knew him. Howard also enjoyed spending time outdoors. He liked to hunt for both small and big game and enjoyed many hunts with his friends.
Howard's family will always remember what a wonderful husband and father he was to them.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Mary Ann Clark and their son, Samuel Clark, who both live in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one granddaughter, Grace Clark of Columbia, S.C.; three nieces, Judy, June and Pat; and one nephew, Ronald Slaugenhaupt.
In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Clark, who died in 2010; and his sister, Charlotte Slaugenhaupt.
CLARK — A memorial service for Howard M. Clark, who died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, will be in Petrolia in the spring of 2013.In honor of Howard, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the United Athletic Association, P.O.
