Betty Y. Wilson Rudolph
Betty Y. Wilson Rudolph, 87, of Mars died Saturday morning in the comfort of her home.
Born in Pittsburgh on July 24, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Margaret Simpson Yeakle.
Betty had been a postal clerk for more than 30 years at the Mars Post Office.
A member of the Old Union Presbyterian Church, she was also a member and past worthy matron of the Mars Chapter 271, Order of the Eastern Star, for more than 50 years.
A certified pilot, she was a member of the Butler County Pilot's Association. She had been a Girl Scout leader, a volunteer at the Mars Public Library and a member of the ALMONO Air Stream Association.
She was the mother of Margaret “Peggy” Wilson Long of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Darcee Wilson-Koosed of Mars and Charles Wilson of Mars; grandmother of Wendy Berchtold of Albion, Pa., Brandon Long of South Carolina and Reese Wilson of Mars; and great-grandmother of Brook and Erica Morrison and Noah Long.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles “Chig” Wilson, in 1964; her second husband, Fred Rudolph, in 1993; and a sister, Charlotte McCurry.
RUDOLPH — Friends of Betty Y. Wilson Rudolph, who died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.Services will be in the Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, Pa., 16046, at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Peter deVries, pastor, officiating. Please meet at the church.
