Uwe “Joe” Luschkowski, 77, of Cranberry Township passed away Friday while under the care of the Cranberry Place.

Born Feb. 24, 1935 in Eckernforde, Germany, he was the son of the late Wilhelm and Ulinka (Shaffer) Luschkowski.

Above all, Joe was a true family man who was very proud of his entire family. He was an avid sports fan who especially loved watching all Pittsburgh sporting events. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

Joe is survived by his two daughters, Monika McCormick and her husband, Ron, of Cranberry Township, and Rose Schuring and her husband, Wally, of Zelienople; his three brothers, Gerd, Helmut and Holger; and his sister, Anneliese.

He also is survived by his four grandchildren, Kevin McCormick and his wife, Mollie, Kelly Mercado and her husband, Victor, Amanda Lynch and her husband, Darren, and Ashley Grossman and her husband, Marcus; and his four great-grandchildren, Taylor and Dominic Mercado, Joseph McCormick and Carter Lynch.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Gertrude (Rudnik) Luschkowski; one brother, Willi; and two sisters, Gerda and Gisela.

LUSCHKOWSKI — Friends of Uwe “Joe” Luschkowski of Cranberry Township, who passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, where a funeral service will be at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Robert A. Keplinger, his church pastor, officiating.Private burial will be in the English Lutheran Church Cemetery in Zelienople.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the English Lutheran Church, 200 E.
