Hazel Lucille Miller, 85, of Harmony passed away Saturday at the Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Grove City.

She was born Sept. 6, 1927, in Portersville, the daughter of the late John and Della (Aiken) Stewart.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Portersville as she proudly joined the congregation on March 24, 1940. She served as a Sunday school teacher and helped with Vacation Bible School. She was a member of the choir and Ladies' Missionary Society. She was the church's statistical recorder for more than 40 years.

Hazel grew up in Portersville, which is located on a plot of ground that was originally deeded to her great-great-great-grandfather, Robert Stewart, for his service in the Revolutionary War.

She was a graduate of Muddy Creek High School. She worked at the Bantam Car Co. before her marriage.

Surviving is her husband of 64 years, George Arthur Miller, who she married on Sept. 29, 1948.

Also surviving are her two sons, Bruce A. Miller and his wife, Beth, of Prospect and William M. Miller and his wife, Arlene, of Indiana, Pa.; her two daughters, Brenda L. Miller and her husband, Ken, of Harmony and Becky E. Harlan and her husband, Howard, of New Castle; her eight grandchildren, Bryan (Kelli) Miller, Megan (Sam) Plunkard, Amy (Matt) Nichols, Eric Miller, Laura Harlan, Daniel Harlan, Natalie (Tim) Palma and Nathan Miller; and her seven great-grandchildren, Kennedi, Cal and Lane Miller, Taylor and Hannah Plunkard and Dylan and Caleb Nichols.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

MILLER — Visitation for Hazel Lucille Miller, who died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, will be at the Presbyterian Church of Portersville at 10 a.m. with the service to follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday.Memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Portersville, P.O.
