Christine Eggert Lord
Christine Eggert Lord, 93, formerly of Valencia and New Sewickley Township, died Tuesday morning at the LAS St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.
Born in Pittsburgh, April 12, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Ellen Brocco Eggert.
A beautician, Christine and her late husband had owned the Mars Fishing Lake.
She was a talented artist, enjoyed playing cards and was an avid gardener.
She was a member of the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mars.
Surviving are a daughter, Janice Jenny and her husband, Ronald, of New Sewickley Township; and a son, Winston W. “Herkie” Lord and his wife, Georgetta, of Saxonburg. She was the grandmother of Sally Riley (Dave), Winston Lord, Paul Lord (Michelle), Laurie Borgman (Karl), Bill Patterson (Trudy), Ross Jenny, Dean Jenny (Kathy), Yvonne Dominick (Joe) and Doug Jenny (Bonnie). Also surviving are 16 great-grandchildren, especially Megan; her sister-in-law, Florence Sproul; her “sister,” Mary Ellen Dobson; many special nieces and nephews; and many great friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Lord, who she married May 19, 1939, and who died June 30, 1990; a great-grandson, Colt; and three sisters, Ann Smith, Kathryn Stoner and Mamie Stuart.
<B>LORD </B>— Friends of Christine Eggert Lord, who died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, will be received at <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Hoogebrugge officiating.
