WASHINGTON — The Agriculture Department is reinstating several reports that it had targeted for elimination two months ago in a cost-cutting move.

The department said that it will reinstate reports for industries such as catfish and trout, hops, fruits and vegetables, and bees and honey.

In October, the USDA had said that eliminating or reducing the frequency of 14 crop and livestock reports would save about $10 million.

But some farmers complained that without the reports, they would be left guessing how much to produce and when to sell.

Quiznos may seek Chapter 11 statusDENVER — Quiznos said a majority of its creditors have agreed to a plan by the restaurant chain to restructure or pay off some $650 million in debt, but it may yet file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.The plan outlined Friday calls for one of Quiznos’ major creditors to invest $150 million of new equity capital into the chain.The plan would eliminate nearly one-third of Quiznos’ debt and provide it with $75 million to continue operating. Quiznos said it will only file for bankruptcy if it fails to reach restructuring deals with all of its creditors.
