William I. Kaltenbach, 80, of Mars died Friday afternoon at the Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford.

Born in Renfrew on Aug. 20, 1931, he was the son of the late Ervin “Jake” and Mae Renfrew Kaltenbach.

He worked for North Pittsburgh Telephone Co. for 30 years, starting as a cable splicer and retiring as a PBX installer.

He was a member of Old Union Presbyterian Church, and was a former member of the Mars Alliance Church.

A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of Mars VFW Post 7505.

Surviving are his wife, Charlene Marsh Kaltenbach, who he married Sept. 12, 1953; one daughter, Linda Gebhart and her husband, Bob, of West Sunbury; one son, Jerry Kaltenbach and his wife, Paula, of Grove City; his grandchildren, Robert (Michelle), Timothy (Julia), Arlene, Douglas, Brittny, Michele and Chad; one sister, Nancy Sterling of Butler; and one brother, Richard Kaltenbach and his wife, Carole, of Renfrew.

<B>KALTENBACH</B> — Friends of William I. Kaltenbach, who died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, are invited to a funeral service in Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, at 7 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Peter deVries, pastor, officiating.
