Lawrence R. 'Larry' Parker
Lawrence R. “Larry” Parker, 84, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Owensboro, Ky., passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, at Blake Memorial Hospital in Bradenton.
He was born in Butler County, Feb. 16, 1927, to the late Richard M. and Amelda Myers Parker.
Larry retired from the American Transportation Co. as a broker and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
He was a former president of the Noon Lions Club, district governor in the Lions and a lifetime member of the Lions Eye Foundation. He was a former president of Owensboro Transportation, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Who's Who in Kentucky.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, June Moser Parker; two sons, Jeff (Tina) Parker of Moody, Ala., and Larry (Dione) Parker of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four daughters, Carol (Larry) Jaggers and Gail Parker, all of Owensboro, Kathy (Garnett) Vance of Glasgow, Ky., and Sandy (Joe) Bell of Atlanta, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert “Bob” (Dorothy) Parker of Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews including, William Roger Parker, who was like a brother.
<B>PARKER</B> — Services for Lawrence R. “Larry” Parker, who died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, will be at noon Saturday, Nov. 26, at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with entombment following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
