Roland J. Bodnar, 57, of the Petrolia area passed away unexpectedly at 10:19 p.m. Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 22, 1954, in Pittsburgh. He was the son of Dolores A. Prycl Bodnar and the late Roland D. Bodnar.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He had been employed by Reep Excavating and Asplundh Tree Services.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 243 of West Sunbury and the Valley Dam Snowmobile Club.

He is survived by his mother, Dolores Bodnar of Petrolia; two daughters, Alisha Bodnar and Kelsey Bodnar, at home; two sisters, Linda S. Bodnar Helch of Conneaut Lake and Mrs. William J. (Karen D.) Yurkovich of Butler, and one brother, Brian K. Bodnar of Petrolia. Two nieces and two nephews also survive.

<B>BODNAR </B>— Friends of Roland J. Bodnar, who died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, will be received at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. A blessing service will follow at 8:30 p.m. with Father James Bedillion of St. Alphonsus Parish officiating. Burial will be private.
