Rev. Richard Walker
Rev. Richard M. “Dick” Walker, 77, of Gibsonia, formerly of Warrendale, passed away Tuesday while under the care of the St. Barnabas Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 13, 1934, in Bruin, he was the son of the late Richard Russel and Dorothy Eileen (Miller) Walker.
Dick was a graduate of Penn State University and the Lancaster Bible College. He had a passion for missionary work and was actively involved with the Gideons International. In addition, he was the Western Pennsylvania director for Child Evangelism Fellowship. “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Dorothy (Casselberry) Walker, who he married on June 16, 1956; five loving children, Rick Walker of Texas, Jeff Walker of Lancaster, Julie Walker of North Carolina, John Walker of Tennessee and Matt Walker of Bakerstown; his sister, Darla Stewart of Bruin; 12 loving grandchildren; and 18 precious great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was reunited with his granddaughter, the late Amanda Kristine; and his brother, the late Denny Gene Walker.
<B>WALKER</B> — The family of Rev. Richard M. “Dick” Walker, who died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, will welcome friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
