Team from BHS travels to Panama

A team from Butler Health System traveled with Operation Walk Pittsburgh to provide 45 patients a total of 55 free joint replacement surgeries in Panama City, Panama.

Operation Walk Pittsburgh is a nonprofit medical mission that provides life-changing hip and knee surgeries in Pittsburgh and a different city around the world each year.

The Butler team consisted of

Bobbi Haluka and

Moniteau collects candy for troopsCHERRY TWP — Amanda Sloan, a senior at Moniteau High School, along with a Moniteau club, Warrior Pride, collected nearly 200 pounds of excess Halloween candy in November to send overseas for American troops.The collection was part of Sloan's senior project and took more than four days to complete.Sloan also partnered with the USO, a nonprofit service organization, to deliver the candy to troops.Warrior Pride is a new club at the Moniteau Junior-Senior High School, organized to increase school spirit and student pride in the school.———

<B>Victoria Bartoe </B>was honored by The Bradys Bend American Legion Bishop– Madden Post 488.The board members of the post presented Victoria with a certificate of recognition for her selfless act of kindness and her support for the veterans of this country.Victoria celebrated her 16th birthday with a party filled with fun, games, food, family and friends, but asked all her guests to bring a donation for Homes for Our Troops instead of presents for herself.She was able to send hundreds of dollars to Homes for Our Troops.———<B>Cecelia Pellegrino</B> was awarded the title of Junior Miss Dance of Pennsylvania at the Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Convention in Pittsburgh.She is a student at Butler Junior High School and is the daughter of PJ and Laura Pellegrino.Cecelia will compete at the Dance Masters of America National Convention in Anaheim, Calif., in July.———The raffle winners at Saint Andrews Orthodox Church in Lyndora were: <B>Andy Potyka</B>, Steeler Basket; <B>Dorothy Hays</B>, Pantry Basket;<B> Jennifer Wolenski, </B>Cliffords gift certificate; <B>Helen Buckowsky</B>, Wine and Dine; and <B>Richard Dent,</B> 50/50 raffle.
