Butler County native Ethel C. (Kemper) Hammond of Denton, Md., died Monday.

She was the wife of the late Harry M. Hammond; mother of the Rev. H. Martin Hammond Jr., William K. Hammond, Helen C. Nussear and Virginia Conmy. She also is survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
