Robert W. Drushel, 91, of Buchanan, Mich., formerly of Evans City, passed away Monday at his home.

Born in Evans City on Aug. 13, 1920, he was the son of the late L. Phillip and Susan M. Berringer Drushel.

He had been a member of the Farmington Presbyterian Church in Farmington, Mich.

Mr. Drushel was an electronic engineer. He worked with Firth Stirling in Pittsburgh. He was in research and development, retiring from Textron in Michigan. He was an inventor and held 17 U.S. patents.

He was a veteran of World War II, in the Air Transport Command, and he was a member of the Hump Pilots Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife, E. Jane Burlingham Drushel, on Nov. 12, 1995; and by two brothers, H. Leroy and Harry V. Drushel.

He was the beloved father of Deborah Paulette of Buchanan, Mich., the cherished grandfather of Megan Place and Ben and Allison Paulette, and the proud great-grandfather of Josephine. He also is survived by two sisters-in-law, Louise Drushel of Evans City and Arlene Burlingham of Grand Rapids, Mich.

<B>DRUSHEL</B> — A graveside service for Robert W. Drushel, who died Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Evans City Cemetery.
