Charles A. Ross, 79, of Cranberry Township since 1981, formerly of Neville Island, passed away peacefully on Thursday at UPMC Passavant.

He was born on Nov. 1, 1932, in Coraopolis to the late Sam C. and Mary A. (Latanzio) Ross.

He was the beloved husband of Cynthia (Buczko) Ross; the loving father of Benjamin A. Ross and Brandon J. Ross, both of Cranberry Township, Charles S. “Chip” Ross (Judy) of Moon Township and Colleen Ann Ross of West Park, both from a previous marriage; the brother of Betty Work and her son, Joel Work, of Coraopolis; and the grandfather of Jesse Ann Metzler.

He was preceded in death by eight siblings.

For 25 years, Chuck worked his way up in the Montour Railroad, achieving both master mechanic and superintendent.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Post 402 and was a former Neville Township commissioner.

<B>ROSS</B> — Visitation for Charles A. Ross, who died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Copeland Funeral Home Moon Township</B>, 981 Brodhead Road, where a blessing service will be at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Richard Jones officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery with full military honors.In support of his firefighting sons, the family suggests donations in his name to the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company, 1629 Haine School Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066.
