Marlene M. Ellenberger, 71, of Butler passed away Monday at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born Sept. 14, 1940, in Butler, the daughter of the late Harry J. Brown and the late Bertha (Cratty) Brown.

Marlene was a former member of the Butler Baptist Temple, where she was very active. At the time of her death, she was attending the Faith Fellowship Alliance Church.

She was a homemaker and her and her husband operated their family business, Bob's Greenhouse, for many years.

She was a 1958 graduate of Butler High School and had worked at the McElvane-Elder Insurance Co.

Marlene always will be remembered for her generous laughter, her kind and loving disposition, and her devotion to her family.

Surviving are her loving husband of 53 years, Robert L. Ellenberger of Butler; four sons, James (Michelle) Ellenberger of Butler, David (Joanne) Ellenberger of Butler, Donald (Nikki) Ellenberger of Butler and Robert (Sherry) Ellenberger of Butler; five grandchildren, Justin, Jesse, Jason, Rachel and Timothy Ellenberger; and a sister, Barbara (Kenneth) Webb of Butler.

<B>ELLENBERGER </B>— Friends of Marlene M. Ellenberger, who died Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, will be received at <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Visitation also will be at the Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faithway-Fared Drive, Butler, Friday from 10 until time of service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Richard Jenks officiating.
