Jennie R. Rocco
Jennie R. Rocco, 91, of Meridian died Saturday morning at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born June 22, 1920, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Sophia (Novacznski) Nadrowski.
She was a retired presser for Jack & Jill Cleaners on Main Street in Butler, having worked there more than 15 years.
She was a member of the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian, was past president of St. Fidelis Christian Mothers, was a former Brownie Scout leader, loved to travel as she had visited five continents, and had enjoyed cards, especially pinochle.
Surviving are her son, Leon J. “Butch” Rocco of Butler; three daughters, Patricia Young of Richmond, Va., Mrs. Ronald (Jeanne) Kummer of Butler and Deborah Rocco of Meridian; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sophia Himchak of Highfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo P. Rocco, who she married Aug. 19, 1938, and who died Jan. 18, 1997; and by two sisters, Irene Nadrowski and Agnes Zulick.
<B>ROCCO </B>— Friends of Jennie R. Rocco, who died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, will be received at <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian. The Rev. George Palick, will officiate.
