During a pageant Saturday at the Succop Theater, three young women and three girls were selected to compete in the Miss Pennsylvania and Miss Pennsylvania Outstand Teen/America pageants, set for May in Pittsburgh. Those pageants will determine who competes to become Miss America and Miss Outstand Teen America.

In the first competition, Jaime “Annie” Rosellini was named Miss Butler County/America.

Rosellini, 20, is the daughter of Louann Rosellini. She majors in dance at Point Park University, where she is a sophomore. She did a lyrical dance to “Let it Be.” Her platform was Doing My Part to Help Save Your Heart.

First runner-up was Alyssa Messett, 20, a student at Slippery Rock University.

In the second event, Catherine Janisko was named Miss Moraine State/America, with Brittany Marcolini named Miss Mercer County/America.

Janisko, 21, is the daughter of James and Rosanne Janisko. She is a junior at Penn State University, majoring in broadcast journalism. She sang “Over the Rainbow.” Her platform was Family Matters: Keeping Family Values Relevant.

Marcolini, 22, is the daughter of Samuel and Leann Marcolini. She is a junior at California (Pa.) University, where she majors in commercial music technology. She did a dance twirl to “Sing, Sing, Sing.” Her platform was Artistic Army: Combating Bullying.

First runner-up for both crowns was Anne Grill, 20, a sophomore at Penn State University.

In the third event, Madison Roth was named Miss Butler County Outstanding Teen/America.

Roth, 12, is the daughter of Donald and Carianne Roth. She is a seventh grader at Knoch Middle School. She did a tumbling and balance beam routine to “Born in the U.S.A.” Her platform was Raising Celiac Disease Awareness and Support for Kids and Teens.

First runner-up for that title was 15-year-old Clare Stevenson, a sophomore at Butler High School.

In the final event, Emily Doyle was named Miss Moraine State Outstanding Teen/America, with Marielle McDonald named Miss Mercer County Outstanding Teen/America.

Doyle, 17, is the daughter of Michael and Christine Doyle. She is a junior at Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School. She did a baton routine to “Shake a Tail Feather.” Her platform was The Importance of Literacy.McDonald, 13, is the daughter of Scott and Mary McDonald. She is an eighth grader at Wilkes-Barre Academy. She did a tap dance to “Happy Feet.” Her platform was Shriners Changing the World Through Caring for Kids.First runner-up for those titles is Libby Hornstein, a sophomore at Meadville High School.Contestants were judged on interviews, talent, onstage questions and evening wear. Miss Outstanding Teen contestants modeled fitness clothing. Miss Pennsylvania contestants modeled swimsuits.Pageant directors were Lucy Mudrick and Judy Hughes.
