BC3 squads struggle during weekend losses
The Butler County Community College men’s basketball team dropped a pair of games to highly-ranked squads in the CCAC-Allegheny Tournament over the weekend.
Joliet (Ill.) Community College defeated the Pioneers 126-64 despite Justin Tyler’s 14 points and seven rebounds. Butler graduate Bill Smith added 12 points and 10 boards, Antwan Davis 13 points and four rebounds.
Slippery Rock graduate Alec McDeavitt had six assists and Knoch grad Cory Miller added four. Joliet is ranked No. 2 in all of NJCAA.
Prince George, the No. 9 ranked NJCAA team, defeated BC3 105-59. McDeavitt had 15 points and eight rebounds, Davis 10 points and Smith seven boards.
Davis made the all-tournament team. The Pioneers are 0-4 on the season.
The BC3 women (1-2) dropped a 63-49 decision to Jamestown CC Saturday. Jacqueline Diaz scored 25 points, hitting all 13 of her free throws.
Butler graduate Emily Wise added 11 points.
