Job Corps offers BC3 scholarships
BUTLER TWP — Full scholarships to Butler County Community College are available to low-income county residents from 17 to 24 years old through Job Corps, a U.S. Department of Labor program.
Job Corps offers 50 scholarships each year and 44 were awarded during the fall semester. Applicants who are at least 18 years old can use their own income to qualify.
Students receive full tuition, books, a bus pass or gas card, clothing vouchers, a $100 monthly stipend and a $1,200 completion bonus.
New and current students are eligible as long as they are legal U.S. residents, free of criminal court obligations, and have either a high school diploma or a GED. Applicants also must pass BC3's placement test and attend full-time.
For information, contact Job Corps college counselors at BC3, 724-287-8711, or call admissions counselor Rich Heckert at 412-471-6123, Ext. 16.
