SV alive in PIAA volleyball
YORK — Seneca Valley advanced to the semifinal round of the PIAA girls volleyball chamnpionships Friday.
Pine-Richland, which lost to the Raiders in the WPIAL title match last weekend, also advanced. The teams are in different pools.
No two WPIAL teams have faced each other in a state title match in volleyball since 1998.
In Class AA, Freeport finished in a three-way tie for a berth in the semifinals, but lost a tiebreaker Friday. The Yellowjackets defeated Fort LeBouef 25-22, but suffered a 32-30 loss to Susquehannock.
