State police seek suspects in car theft

WORTH TWP — State police are seeking a pair of suspected car thieves.

Justin R. Hilliard, 21, of Prospect and Kean A. Puz, 23, of East Butler allegedly took a 2000 Chrysler Concorde and other items from a woman’s home in August.

District Judge Tim Shaffer last week issued an arrest warrant for the men, who are both charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of theft.

Police began investigating the case Aug. 6 when Stacey Suladie reported her car stolen from her Worth Township home.

Suladie told troopers she suspected the defendants, who she had allowed to stay overnight at her house, court documents said.

When she awoke, Hilliard and Puz, who had slept in another part of the home, were gone. Also missing were her cell phone, a Nintendo Wii video game console and a MP3 player.

The woman’s car, valued at $4,000, was later found in the parking lot of a Clay Township bar.

Police on Sept. 9 interviewed Hilliard, who admitted he and Puz took Suladie’s car and other belongings, documents said.

Hilliard claimed Puz left with the other electronic items, worth a combined $309, and he had not seen or spoken to him since, documents said.
