SR volleyball falls in semis

The Slippery Rock High girls volleyball team was certainly one of the top teams in District 10 Class AA, but the Rockets couldn’t solve Fort LeBoeuf Saturday in the D-10 semifinals at Meadville High School.

Unbeaten Fort LeBoeuf defeated Slippery Rock 25-21, 28-26 on its way to the District 10 title and denied the Rockets a trip to states.

The top two in District 10 move on to the PIAA Class AA tournament.

The Bison (21-0) went on to drop General McLane (18-3) in the District 10 championship by scores of 25-22, 25-23 and 25-16.

Slippery Rock — the Region 5 champions — finished the season at 16-2.

Marie Takach set a school record for aces in a single season and career, while Megan Little broke the school’s single-season records for passes and digs during the successful campaign.
