Wall St. protest pathetic
The “Infest Wall Street” Movement would be hilarious if it wasn’t so pathetic. These indoctrinated college students, over-aged hippies, socialists and various other malcontents haven’t a clue as to the real cause of their complaints.
They claim that their grievances are against the private sector and corporate “greed” that they feel is the real evil in the world. It’s the so-called corporate greed that puts the clothes on their back and the food in their stomachs.
It’s the evil corporations that manufacture their cellphones, laptop computers, ipads, Game Boys, and all the other electronic gizmos to which they’re so addicted. It’s those very corporations that provide many of their parents jobs so they can wile away four years of college on their parents’ dime.
They do have a legitimate complaint on the high cost of their mediocre educations that provide little to prepare them for the real world.
Instead of protesting the banks that loan them the money to pursue their quest for higher education, they should be storming the walls of those institutions that overcharge and under-educate them.
They should be camping out in the halls of Congress and on the lawn of the White House, whose inhabitants will tax half their income and squander much of it on social welfare programs for non-producers.
For decades, our public education system has neglected to properly teach American history, economics, patriotism, personal responsibility and realistic self-worth through accomplishments. In many cases, we as parents and grandparents have failed to raise our children to be responsible, productive adults.
Now the chickens have come home to roost as we see these flea-baggers embrace the ideas of socialism and more government control over our lives.
Our nation’s Founding Fathers and the millions of Americans who have sacrificed to make America great must be spinning in their graves.
We can only pray that these young people wake up to the fallacy of their ways before they drag themselves and the rest of us down into the pit of mediocrity and turn America into another has-been nation.
