Freeport grabs 3rd spot
Kayla Zboran finished 12th overall to lead the Freeport girls cross country team to a third-place finish and a spot in the state meet at the WPIAL Cross Country Championships at Coopers Lake Thursday afternoon.
Zboran ran a time of 21 minutes, 34 seconds to lead five Yellowjacket runners in the top 100.
Rebecca Dudek placed 14th for Freeport.
Seneca Valley's boys and girls teams each placed sixth as a team and will send multiple individuals to the PIAA Cross Country Championships, which will be held at the Parkway Cross Country Course in Hershey Nov. 5.
Madison Goodman placed 12th in the boys race with a time of 17:42 for the Raiders. His teammates, Ben Nickel and Jake Perri also advanced.
Taryn Latsko placed 39th for the SV girls to advance.
Mars placed eighth in both meets and will send Christopher Georgiadis and Sean Gannon on the boys side and Maggie McChesney for the girls team to the state meet.
