End jobs discrimination

If anyone has been unemployed for an extended period of time, it looks like their chances of gaining new employment will be fruitless, and all efforts to continue looking will quite probably be in vain.

It is being reported that long-term unemployed people are being discriminated against. And, if you are 45 or older, your chances are even slimmer to get a new job.

That’s un-American.

If this had happened in the 1930s, this country never would have gotten out of the Great Depression.

Employers, hello! People who have been unemployed for extended periods of time are not stupid. These people, most with no criminal records, at one time held down jobs for many years.

Why should they be kept from landing gainful employment?

It is unfair and insulting to good, intelligent people who have worked hard and honestly to discriminate against them, just because they are over 45.

Employers should put themselves in others’ shoes and consider how they would feel if they were in the same position — told that they are not a good candidate for another job because of long-term unemployment.

It is unjust, unfair and immoral to limit opportunities to anyone, especially the long-term unemployed.

It is time that this kind of unfairness stops.
