CRANBERRY TWP — UPMC has leased the former bulk postage center in Thorn Hill Industrial Park as a supply warehouse.

Susan Manko, a director of media relations for UPMC, said the facility at 405 Keystone Drive is close to 150,000 square feet.

The building will be used to store office supplies and nonmedical hospital supplies, such as IV stands.

“All blood products and drugs and those types of things will continue to be stored in hospitals,” she said.

The health care system has a 50,000 square foot warehouse on Pittsburgh’s South Side, but needed more space.

“This warehouse will serve all of our facilities,” Manko said of the new facility.

She does not know when UPMC will move into the Thorn Hill space, nor how many employees will work there.

UPMC is a health care system with 15 hospitals in Western Pennsylvania, including UPMC Passavant Cranberry in the township.
