SR, Mars win big

Eight players scored for the Slippery Rock High boys soccer team in a 9-1 thumping of host Conneaut Valley Wednesday afternoon.

Braden Sloan led the onslaught with a pair of goals while Joshua Stutz, Luke Lachance, Evan Mysliwiec, Cole McCandless, Mike Stutz, Jacob Prelec and Joe Gioia each found the net once for the Rockets (10-2, 4-1).

<B>Mars 15, Freeport 1 — </B>Kristen Check and Mani Brueckner recorded three goals apiece and Emily Diefenbacher added two more as the Planets rolled to the section triumph.Crysta Ganter, Lydia Dennis, Sabrina Edwards, Karli Paracca, Kristen McKenzie, Olivia Haefner and Beth Perri each had a goal for Mars.<B>Pine-Richland 6, Butler 0 — </B>The Golden Tornado (1-13, 0-11) host Blackhawk at 7:30 p.m. Saturday for Senior Night.<B>Knoch 6, Burrell 0</B> — Danielle Sharbaugh scored three goals and also had an assist as the Knights (14-0-2) rolled.Knoch will face Mars in a showdown at Mars Monday night.

<B>Knoch 3, Burrell 0 — </B>Brooke Armahizer had 19 service points, Celina Sanks 10 kills and Jessi Boldy 30 digs as the Knights (10-4, 6-2) swept the Bucs 25-7, 25-18, 25-11.<B>Mars 3, South Fayette 1 </B>— Katie King had 30 assists as the Planets rallied for a 14-25, 25-21, 26-24, 25-16 win.Abby Matusik added nine kills for Mars.

<B>First Baptist Christian 3, Champion Christian 2 (boys soccer) — </B>Matt Cumberland scored two goals for FBC while Annie Barnhart netted one. Tommy Barnhart had three assists.<B>First Baptist Christian 3, Neighborhood Academy 0 (girls volleyball) — </B>Lauren Hughes had 12 aces. Hildi Burleigh six assists and five kills in the win.<B></B>
