The Butler Eagle is seeking original family recipe submissions for a holiday contest and cookbook.

The cookbook will be published Nov. 15. Deadline to enter is Oct. 24.

Recipes will be judged in seven categories: appetizer/miscellaneous, breads, soups, salads, low-fat entries, vegetables, desserts

Finalists will be asked to prepare their dish for judging on Nov. 4. Winners in each category will receive a $500 grocery gift certificate. Second place winners will receive $100 grocery cards; with $50 cards for third place winners.

Recipes should be identified by category and include the entrant’s contact information.
