GC pair charged with burglaries
FRANKLIN TWP — A Grove City couple already jailed for breaking into one Mercer County store and trying to break into another one, is now charged with burglarizing a beer business.
State police in Butler this week charged Andrew Paul Walker, 28, and Jaclyn J. Boice, 20, in connection with the early morning Aug. 28 break-in at Case’s Beer Distributor on Route 422 in Franklin Township.
Investigators suspect Walker and Boice drove to the beer store in Boice’s car. Walker allegedly used a crowbar to pry open a lock on the steel door.
The burglary triggered the security alarm and scared off the suspects before they could get into the business, according to court documents.
About two weeks later, police suspected the pair in connection with three other break-ins or attempted break-ins in Mercer County.
Investigators Sept. 14 got a search warrant for the couple’s Stewart Avenue home in Grove City, where they found stolen items from those other burglaries, documents said.
Troopers arrested Walker and Boice on charges they broke into Hoffman’s Grocery Store in Jefferson Township on Aug. 21. They were placed in the Mercer County Jail.
Later, police charged them in connection with the Sept. 3 attempted break-in at Dye’s Service Station on Route 62 in Stoneboro and the Sept. 5 or 6 break-in at Jones Ice Cream Shop on Route 62 in Jefferson Township.
Those three cases are currently pending in Mercer County Court.
Meanwhile, police Tuesday charged the defendants with the Case’s Beer distributor break-in.
Walker and Boice both confessed to the crime, documents said.
Both suspects remain in the Mercer County Jail on $75,000 bail each.
