COLLEGE NOTES
The Butler County Community College women’s volleyball team improved to 14-1 on the year with a pair of wins recently.
The Pioneers defeated Penn Highlands Community College 25-12, 25-17, 25-16 as Samantha Sharpless had nine kills, Danielle Lloyd 12 digs and Jessica Prelec 25 assists.
BC3 stopped Potomac State 23-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-20 as Julia Kleinfelder had 12 kills, Sharpless 11,. Chelsea Pallone 10 and Prelec had 37 assists.
The Pioneers host Garrett at 6 p.m. today.

JANNA REILLY (Slippery Rock University), a freshman setter, has been named PSAC West Volleyball Player of the Week. She tallied 99 assists, 18 digs, two kills, two blocks and an ace in Rock wins over Clarion and Edinboro.•
ASHLEY BRANCH (Grove City College), a sophomore middle hitter, has been named Presidents’ Athletic Conference Player of the Week. She tallied 11 kills and seven blocks in a win over La Roche, 12 kills and five blocks in a loss to Westminster, 12 kills, two blocks in a win over D’Youville.•
DANIEL ADAMS (Grove City), a sophomore defender, has been named President’s Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Defender/Goalkeeper of the Week. He assisted on the game-winning goal and helped the Wolverines shut out Bethany, 1-0.From staff reports
