Making Strides set for Oct. 29

Corina Diehl and Gov. Tom Corbett stand beside a Ferrari painted pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Diehl Automotive gave more than $10,000 to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer last year, and this year it has it's own team in the walk.

PITTSBURGH — The American Cancer Society will sponsor the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk on Oct. 29 at North Shore Riverfront Park Great Lawn.

Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the 5K walk starts at 9 a.m.

The money raised will save lives by helping people stay and get well, find cures and fight breast cancer.

For information about the walk, call 1-800-227-2345 or visit cancer.org/stridesonline.

For Corina Diehl, owner of Diehl Automotive, the walk will be the culmination of a year’s worth of work.

In 2010, Diehl Automotive gave more than $10,000 to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

This year it has its own team for the second annual walk. It also will donate $50 to the Making Strides effort for every car sold in October.

In addition, Diehl is one of the sponsors of the Making Strides benefit at the Blue Restaurant in Allison Park on Oct. 20.

For information on that benefit, contact Linda at 724-351-4161.
