Struss

LaVerne Mary Struss, 83, of Zelienople passed away on Friday while under the care of UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born July 7, 1928, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Edward “Red” and Rosella Barbara (Dorsch) Muckle.

For many years, LaVerne was a member of the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church.

She is survived by three loving children, Norman H. Struss, Jr. and his wife, Amy, of Cranberry Township, Barbara M. Lavelle and her husband, Jerry, of Cheswick, and Jeffrey A. Struss Sr. and his wife, Maureen, of Annapolis, Md.; four brothers, Richard Muckle, Alan Muckle, Charles Muckle and Lawrence “Larry” Muckle; one sister, Rosella Swedish; 14 loving grandchildren, Melissa Bungar and her husband, Dan, Crystal Toczek and her husband, Gerry, Ben Struss and his wife, Kathleen, J.J. Lavelle, Chelsea Lavelle, Jeffrey Struss Jr. and his wife, JoAnna, Megan Turk and her husband, Evan, Josh Struss, Stephen Struss, Hannah Struss, Michael Struss, Gabriel Struss, Isaiah Struss and Zachary Struss; and nine precious great-grandchildren, Gabe, Morgan, Chloe and Eden Bungar, Judah, Mayah and Elijah Struss, and Zipporah and Quinn Turk.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norman H. Struss, Sr. who passed away on April 14, 2009, and her sister, Eileen Shafer.

<B>STRUSS</B> — The family will welcome friends of LaVerne Mary Struss, who died Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at the <B>Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home</B>, 219 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church, 123 N. Pittsburgh St., Zelienople.
