Richard L. Druschel, 83, of Harmony died Wednesday at VA Butler Healthcare.

Born Aug. 17, 1928, in Harmony, he was the son of the late John and Nellie Dora Scheidemantle Druschel.

Mr. Druschel proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired in 1990 from Robinson Industries.

He volunteered daily at the Challenges Senior Center in Ellwood City. Spending time with his family was a joy for Mr. Druschel, who also loved hunting, fishing and gardening.

He is survived by four sons, Richard L. (Valerie) Druschel Jr. of Slippery Rock, David Druschel of Harmony, Donald (Barbara) Druschel of Harmony and Allan (Ann) Druschel of Portersville; three sisters, Ann Peffer of Zelienople, Freda (John) Hart of Zelienople and Linda (Dave) Stowell of Prospect; a sister-in-law, Shirley Druschel of Zelienople; three brothers-in-law, Eric McCandless of Harmony, Chuck Lewis of Ransomville, N.Y., and Jack Peffer of Marienville; and also by grandchildren, Jordan, Daniel and Amber Druschel, Melissa Grooms, Ariel McCracken, Patrick Gardner, Tracy Jenks and Stacy Fair.

His wife, Emma Main Druschel, who he married Aug. 26, 1950, preceded him in death April 11, 2007. He also was preceded by a daughter, Carol Lee Druschel; three sisters, Erma Knoechel, Grace Lewis and Donna McCandless; and a brother, Larry Druschel.

<B>DRUSCHEL </B>— Friends of Richard L. Druschel, who died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Grace Church of Harmony, 538 Main St., Harmony, with the Rev. Peter J. Everett officiating. Everyone please meet at church.
