Norman W. Neupert, 66, of Cabot lost a long battle with bladder cancer Tuesday at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia in Cabot.

Born Dec. 22, 1944, in Butler, he was the son of Kenneth Neupert and Ruth McCloskey Neupert.

Norm was a lifelong farmer on the family farm, which has been in the family since 1902. He had worked for Alderson Farm Equipment Repair, the Moonlight Mushroom Farm and W.L. Roenigk. He was currently employed by Holbein Inc.

He was a devoted race fan at Lernerville Speedway. He was involved in the planning of Neupert Raceway Park. He enjoyed working on farm equipment and helping other people and currently was renovating the family homestead.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather to his wife, Alanna “Lana” Neupert of Cabot, who he married Aug. 1, 1970; a son, Brett Neupert of Cabot; a daughter, Jennifer (Scott) Rhoades of Cabot; two sisters, Lynda Byers and her fiancee, Jerry Weitzel, of Sarver and Beryl Mottern of Sarver, two grandchildren, Alexandria and Zoe Rhoades; nieces and nephews; and his dog, Angel.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leroy Neupert.

<B>NEUPERT</B> — Friends of Norman W. Neupert, who died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, Saxonburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Roger Nuerge officiating. Interment will follow in the Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.Immediately following the service at the cemetery, all are welcome to a celebration of life at the Saxonburg American Legion on Route 356.Memorial donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.Information also is available at www.foxfuneralhomeinc.com.
