IN BRIEF
CRANBERRY TWP —Westinghouse Electric announced this week that it has been awarded a $35 million contract to install replacement reactor vessel heads and to provide associated services for Axpo AG’s Beznau nuclear power plant in Döttingen, Switzerland.
The installations will occur in 2014.
In 2009, Westinghouse got the contract for delivery of the two RV heads to Beznau, which is a two-unit nuclear plant equipped with Westinghouse pressurized water reactors.
This new contract covers the RV head installation.
Axpo also recently awarded Westinghouse two other major contracts: one for two new emergency power buildings with related emergency power systems and one for the installation of new plant computers.
