Farm-fresh artwork
Work is nearly done on a mural on the side of the Butler City Farmers Market at 205 S. Chestnut St. The mural, commissioned by Butler Downtown and the city, was created and painted by Ian Thomas, a Slippery Rock University art instructor; Eileen Stroup, a Butler Downtown board member and owner of Titus Networking; and Katherine McLaughlin, a Fox Chapel School District elementary art teacher. All three artists volunteered to do the artwork. The mural is the fourth to be done in the city since 2008. The others are at My Buddy’s on Pillow Street, Butler County Ford on East Wayne Street and the building at 140 W. Jefferson St.
