Homer R. Fester Jr.
Homer R. Fester Jr., 83, of Parker, formerly of Mars, died Wednesday evening at his home.
Born in Bolivar, Westmoreland County, July 12, 1928, he was the son of the late Homer R. and Clara Forsythe Fester Sr.
An auto mechanic, he was the owner of Homer's Auto Repair in Mars.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a life member of the Mars American Legion and belonged to the Parker VFW. He also was a member of the Parker Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving are a daughter, Terry Sestrich (Joseph) of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Gerald R. Fester of Parker and Cary J. Fester (Cheryl) of Butler; three sisters, Mary DeHart, Dixie Lawther (Harry) and Mildred Lazenby, all of Mars; and a brother, Robert “Sonny” Fester (Diane) of Cranberry Township. He was the grandfather of Erin, Jason and Kevin Sestrich, Mallory and Nicholas Fester and Kristy Boyle (Brian); and great-grandfather of Carter, Garrett and Harley Lynn. Alsosurviving are nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Davidson Fester, who he married Oct. 27, 1957, and who died July 24, 2010; a son, Gary D. Fester; two brothers, Harold and William Fester; and three sisters, Alice Huffman, Helen Teddar and Annie Bucci.<br></br><br></br>
<B>FESTER</B> — Friends of Homer R. Fester Jr., who died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, will be received at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
