Margaret L. McKibbin, 96, formerly of Port Richey, Fla., and Valencia, died Sunday afternoon at the Chicora Medical Center.

Born in Valencia, Jan. 14, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Alice Truver Nelson.

Margaret had worked as an apple sorter for Treesdale Farms.

She was a member of the Valencia United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a brother, Harry Nelson of Gibsonia; two nieces, Mary Alice Nelson of Butler and Margaret Mary Sharamonti of Gibsonia; and a nephew, Perk McKibbin in Arizona. Also many great-nieces and great-nephews survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. McKibbin, who died July 23, 1982; two brothers, Ted and LeRoy Nelson; and a nephew, Theodore “Duck” Nelson.

MCCKIBBIN — Friends of Margaret L. McKibbin, who died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, are invited to a memorial service in the Valencia United Methodist Church, 66 Almira St., Valencia, at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Robert Martin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless Township.
