Harry V. Cornelius

Harry V. Cornelius, 76, formerly of Princeton, Lawrence County, died at 9:15 p.m. Saturday at the Autumn Grove Care Center, Harrisville.

Born on Cornelius Road, in Worth Township, July 21, 1935, he was the son of William Everett Cornelius Sr. and Nellie Alice Stephenson Cornelius.

He was a truck driver working for Cooper Brothers when it was operated by Dan Santone. He also drove a truck for Bob George and worked at Matthews Conveyor in Ellwood City.

He was a Protestant.

He enjoyed playing games including horseshoes, bingo and activities at the nursing home.

Surviving are two sons, Carl (Beth) Cornelius of Rochester and Jeffery A. Cornelius of New Castle; and three sisters, Bertha M. (Alvin) Durnell of Slippery Rock, Norma L. (Carl) Rodgers of Slippery Rock and Thelma M. (Aubrey) Slater of Mora, Minn. Also surviving are a grandson, Cody; and several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William E. Cornelius Jr.; a sister, Laura E. Smith; and an infant sister.

<B>CORNELIUS</B> — Services for Harry V. Cornelius, who died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, will be at <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Matthew Kale of Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
