The Butler Junior High football team opened its season with a 21-0 victory at North Hills recently.

Tim Vernick scored on a 30-yard run, David Lennon returned the second-half kickoff 65 yards for a touchdown and Damien Pickett scored on a 38-yard run for the Golden Tornado.

Jacob Rocchi and Dane Milich converted PATs. Linemen Justin Johnson, Trevor Derian and Joshua McCloskey keyed the defensive effort.

Butler hosts Shaler at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
