SRU soccer suffers rare loss
SLIPPERY ROCK — West Virginia Wesleyan’s Aliesha Rees scored off a rebound with 41 seconds left in the first overtime Monday as the Bobcats upset No. 24 Slippery Rock in women’s soccer action at Thompson Stadium.
The Rock (1-1) had a 20-10 edge in shots and tied the game with 1:22 left as Izabel Scott’s crossing pass deflected off a Wesleyan defender into the net.
Monday’s loss was the first in 17 games for SRU, dating back to last season. The Rock plays at Millersville at 1:30 p.m. today.
